PSY Becomes Huge Online Sensation in China

The international “Gangnam Style‘ singer, PSY, proves that he has a big influence in China.

The singer has been named the “Person of the Year” by China’s famous social network, Weibo. About 400,000 local netizens participated in the special poll and PSY earned approximately 190,000 votes.

Recently, Chinese actor Jay Chou criticized PSY by claiming that he was the first person who invented the horse dance and declared a boycott towards anything Korean. Despite the negative press, PSY has built a huge following in China.

Also, the word “Gangnam Style” made the top ten key words in a popular Chinese magazine. 

Meanwhile, in the December 19 edition of American newspaper USA Times, PSY did not make the top eight for the “Person of the Year.”
