Girls' Generation's "I Got a Boy" Tops Charts in Korea, Japan, and USA

Girls’ Generation’s newest song “I Got a Boy” was released yesterday ,and it is already topping the charts domestically and internationally.

“I Got a Boy” was released at 5PM on January 1 and by 8AM the next day, it was the number one song on iTunes Japan, beating such artists as Carly Rae Jepson and EXILE. In the American iTunes chart, “I Got a Boy” took home the #18 spot.

The song is number one in all the online Korean music charts. Their other songs on the album, such as “Dancing Queen,” have also taken the other top 10 spots.

It has been fourteen months since they released their third album, “The Boys,” and this new albums boasts composers such the Dsign Music, Pixie Lott, kenzie, and Yoo Young Jin. Sooyoung, Yuri, and Seohyun also wrote the lyrics for one of the songs.

Girls’ Generation gave their first performance of “I Got a Boy” at their very own comeback show “Girls’ Generation Romantic Party.” Their first music show performance will be on Mnet’s “m! Countdown” on January 3.
