Talks About SBS "K-Pop Star" Season 3 Already Underway

SBS “K-Pop Star” has been doing well since its inception! On top of the excellent candidates, the chemistry between the three judges BoA, YG, and JYP that represent their agencies has really helped the show pull forward. (SM Entertainment, YG Entertainment, and JYP Entertainment)

Even though SBS “K-Pop Star” Season 2 is still underway, it looks as though Season 3 is already being planned.

A representative of the SBS Entertainment department stated, “Currently we are in talks with SM, YG, and JYP in order to plan out the production of SBS ‘K-Pop Star’ Season 3. Although Season 3 has not yet been confirmed, it looks very positive. It looks as though a decision will be made sometime in April.”

The representative continued, “’K-Pop Star’ has a rule of casting by the three agencies. This literally means that the future of candidates is guaranteed, more than other audition programs. Due to this difference, the show does not fall behind in terms of popularity.”

Another representative of SBS stated, “Currently SBS really wants to produce Season 3. Although this will be planned after the end of Season 2, there is a high chance that Season 3 will be produced.”
