12 Casual Romantic Places for Dining on White Day!

Hello Soompiers! White Day is March 14, and lightningstix wanted to introduce you to some casual romantic places that you can spend with a significant other (or friend T_T) on White Day! The reason I have chosen “Casual” is because, most couples will already have done something sweet on Valentine’s Day. That means, you should spend less, but still go to some place romantic on White Day!

What is “White Day?” you ask? Well, I’m going to steal halves in unison‘s excellent explanation. 

“It is a day where guys give girls white gifts (candies, chocolates or jewelry)  and it’s celebrated in Asian countries like China, Japan, South Korea and Taiwan on March 14- although, there are slight variations in each country. In South Korea, it’s mostly celebrated between lovers and some men will have a social obligation of gifting ladies with white gifts if he received a chocolate on Valentine’s Day. Many elementary students gift the whole class with candies while secondary school boys use this day as a great opportunity to confess to their crush.”

Most restaurants that are considered “Romantic” in South Korea are Italian restaurants, but you will see that this list contains some other type of cuisine as well!

Here’s a list of some of lightningstix’s favorite casual and romantic places! (All of these restaurants are reasonable priced for a romantic date: around $30~40 per person)

 1. La Bocca

La Bocca is a quaint Italian restaurant located in Itaewon! You must try one of the paninis and their famous lasagna! All of the food goes well with a glass of wine. The ingredients in the paninis are all imported from Italy! There is also an expansive dessert menu as well!

2. Café Tolix

Café Tolix is a casual restaurant that has various types of food from Asian to Italian. This restuarants is mostly used as a place to drink wine! The interior is very romantic.

3. Mi Casa

Mi Casa is a Spanish tapas restaurant whose owner is an importer of wine in South Korea. That is why this is one of the best places in Itaewon to try out a vast selection of wine! (They even have a wine vending system!) The most famous dish here is the paella!

4. Two Plus

The full name of “Two Plus” in Korean is “Two Plus Sirloin.” Like its namesake the “Two Plus” only serves 1++ grade Korean beef! The restaurant also does not have any corkage fees so it is a great place to bring your own wine! (PS: You have to cook the meat in the restaurant yourself!)

5. The Lamb Kitchen

The Lamb Kitchen is a lamb bbq house! The lamb that is served is very soft and does not have the smell that usually turns off most first-time lamb diners. The interior is also very beautiful.

6. Anna Bini

Anna Bini is a pasta restaurant located in the illustrious Cheongdam-dong. Anna Bini is recognized as one of the best places to have pasta in Seoul! The interior is very cozy and beautiful as well.

7.  Macaroni Market

Macaroni Market is a casual french restaurant that is very popular right now in Itaewon. This restaurant advertises that their menu, wine list, and service are all impeccable.

8. Between

Between describes itself as a “Dining & Tapas Lounge.” The tapas are delicious but also the ambiance is very casual. This is a great place to have a glass of wine with your loved one.

9. Kitchen Salvatore Cuomo

The Kitchen Salvatore Cuomo is beautiful Italian restaurant located near Dosan park. If you ever get the chance to come here you have to try their Napoli style pizza!

10. Buona Sera

Buona Sera is a beautiful Italian restaurant that is famous for their pasta. This restaurant has been shown in many dramas! As you can see, the restaurant has a garden in the middle of the interior!

11. Zen Hideaway

Zen Hideaway is an Asian fusion style restaurant. The interior of this restaurant also has a beautiful garden! This place is awesome if you are looking to have some Asian style food with great wine!

12. JS Garden

JS Garden is a trending Korean-Chinese style restaurant located in Nonhyeon-dong. This restaurant is perfect to go to in March! For a classy Chinese restaurant, the price is just right! (They also have a great wine selection)
