Super Junior Yesung Sets Date for Military Service

Super Junior‘s Yesung is set to begin his military service in early May. According to reports in local news agencies, the singer is  expected to report to service on May 6. He will be admitted to Division 35 in Jeonju, where he will undergo four weeks of military training. After the training, he will serve 23 months in duty as an active service soldier. Reports further said between this announcement and  his formal enlistment date, Yesung has scheduled some personal time off.

With Yesung’s enlistment, the idol will not be able to complete Super Show 5, the Super Junior world tour concert series which kicked off in Seoul in March 2013. Shows are already scheduled in four countries in South America for the latter half of April and a Tokyo, Japan stop in July. Additional shows in China and Europe for the rest of the year are said to be in discussion, though they are yet to be announced.

Meanwhile, Yesung’s enlistment is set to attract the attention of local and international media and fans, though the singer has expressed to enter the service privately.

Currently, there are two other Super Junior members in military service, leader Leeteuk and Heechul.
