Lee Hyori to Halt Music Show Appearances Because She Wants to Rest
“Bad Girl” Lee Hyori recently made her comeback through her fifth studio album “Monochrome” on May 21 and has decided to call it quits.
On June 10, she wrote on her Twitter, “The reason why I want to rest? It’s because I want to rest. I don’t have any other reason… why do people keep asking for my reason.”
It’s been three years since Lee Hyori released an album and it has only been a few weeks since she started promotions with album’s title track “Bad Girl.” Even though she will not appear on music programs like Mnet’s “M! Countdown,” KBS’s “Music Bank,” MBC’s “Show Champion,” and SBS’s “Inkigayo,” she will still appear on variety programs.
A representative from her agency told Newsen, “Lee Hyori wants to have music that speaks to the public. Music ranking shows are mostly for idol fandoms so she was in a dilemma. Also, she already had a photoshoot schedule lined up, which would have interfered with the broadcast.”
Meanwhile, Lee Hyori will appear or participate in the filming for variety programs “Hello,” “Hwashin,” StoryOn’s “Woman Show” this week and will also take part in the radio program “Jang Gi Ha’s Great Radio.”
