FT Island’s Jaejin and AOA’s Choa Gear Up for “High School Musical” with a Duet

FT Island‘s bassist Lee Jaejin and AOA member Choa begin to settle into their roles for the Korean production of “High School Musical on Stage” with the release of a duet track, “Breaking Free.” The two idols portray the high school couple Troy Bolton and Gabriella Montez in the musical set to come to the stage on July 2.

Aside from Lee Jaejin and Choa, the musical also features fellow idols Ryeowook of Super Junior and Luna of f(x) alternating in the lead roles. Kang Dong Ho and Oh So Yeon will likewise alternate as Troy and Gabriella respectively.

“High School Musical” was first released on TV, starring Zac Efron and Vanessa Hudgens, in a love story about a couple with different interests who come to discover a common love for the stage. “Breaking Free” serves as Troy and Gabriella’s audition song, and is one of the highlights of the production.

Meanwhile, apart from appearing in the musical, Lee Jaejin will also join FT Island in the band’s Japanese arena tour. He will shuttle his time between Korea and Japan to honor both commitments.
