Sung Dong Il: “I Apologized to My Son After Filming "Daddy, Where Are We Going?’”

Actor Sung Dong Il shared a story that through the hit variety program “Daddy, Where Are We Going?” he learned something valuable about his son.

On June 27, he was the special guest for MBC’s “Golden Fishery” where he talked about his involvement with “Daddy, Where Are We Going?”

Sung Dong Il revealed that he first rejected the offer to appear on the program because he didn’t want to use his son to make money. However, he talked with his wife and she looked at it in a favorable light. “Since you’re busy, this would be a good way to spend time with your son.”

When a couple production representatives came to his house, Sung Dong Il asked, “If you expect and tell my son to react a certain way, I’m not going to be a part of the show.”

MC Kang Ho Dong asked, “Looks like your son is pretty scared of you.” The actor agreed, “It was hard for him [to talk to me]. Before, he wouldn’t respond when I asked him something. I used get angry whenever that happened.”

He continued, “But it was after we traveled around together that I learned something. I learned that he needed time to think and form a response. I realized that I wasn’t giving him the time needed to create those responses. I apologized to him when we were both using the restroom.”
