First Script Reading Held for "Answer Me 1994"

The cast and crew of the upcoming tvN drama “Answer Me 1994” have held their first script reading session.

On July 23, tvN released photos of the “Answer Me 1994” script reading session. It was held on July 19 and according to tvN sources, the cast’s chemistry was great.

“Answer Me 1994” is the second series installment to last year’s phenomenal hit, “Answer Me 1997.” The same PD and writers got together once again for this second season.

Present at the script reading was Sung Dong Il and Lee Il Hwa from the first season as well as Go Ara, Jung Woo, Yoo Yeon Seok, Kim Sung Gyun, Tiny-G‘s Dohee, B1A4‘s Baro, Son Ho Joon and Yoon Jong Hoon.

Shin Won Ho PD commented, “I will make a fun drama. Since everyone will come together today, I hope you will all have fun while doing it,” at the start of the script reading.

The script reading lasted three hours and covered five episodes worth of content. The cast was reported to read their scripts as if they were really acting on set. The young cast reportedly met up on several occasions previously and practiced their scripts already.

Leading lady Go Ara’s transformation especially caught eyes. Go Ara will be playing Na Jung, a die-hard fan of basketball player Lee Sang Min. She chopped off her long locks and even wore clothes that were from the early nineties.

Meanwhile, “Answer Me 1994” will be about college students who traveled from the countryside to Seoul for school. They will all be living under one roof as home stay students and the drama will depict the pop culture trends and societal issues of 1994 including college basketball, Seotaiji and more.
