Cha Seung Won's Past Remarks on Fatherhood & Sooyoung's Friendship with Cha No Ah Under Spotlight

While actor Cha Seung Won‘s son is involved in a sexual assault case, Cha Seung Won’s past remarks on fatherhood as well as Girls’ Generation member Sooyoung‘s friendship with Cha No Ah has been coming under the limelight.

In 2011, Cha Seung Won was a guest on “Joo Byung Jin’s Talk Concert” and said, “A father should only play the role of a fence. Outside that fence is a war. There’s nothing to do but to prepare your child to face the world outside and watch over them from inside the fence.”

Also, in 2010, Sooyoung mentioned her friendship with Cha No Ah on “Section TV Entertainment News.” She explained that Girls’ Generation’s dorms once used to be Cha Seung Won’s home by saying, “No Ah, I used to go over your home in the past but that house that I went to became our dorm now.”

Sooyoung’s friendship with Cha No Ah also helped her get close to Cha Seung Won, as the two of them posed affectionately at the 2011 Style Icon Awards.

Meanwhile, Cha No Ah, a pro-gamer, has been accused of sexually assaulting a minor on August 1. Cha No Ah has been charged of confining and sexually assaulting an 18-year-old (19 years old in Korean age) high school student. Cha No Ah is currently denying all charges.

On July 3, Cha Seung Won posted an apology on his me2day account on behalf of his son.
