Fiestar Teaches You the Meaning Behind 'Tteokbap'

The three lovely ladies of Fiestar – Jei, Cheska, and Cao Lu – are back to teach you more Korean slang with their weekly series, “A-ha!”

Previously, they have explained the meanings behind  “daebak,” and “deuktem.” This week, they will be teaching you the word “tteokbap“!

In the video, Jei, Cheska, and Cao Lu explains the word in three different languages: Korean, English, Chinese. According to them, “tteokbap” initially means paste bait (for fishing), but it’s often used as a metaphor to describe a hot topic, or things that people are interested in.

Be sure to come back next week for the fourth lesson in the series!
