Roy Kim Confirmed to Leave for the U.S. on August 25

Following prior reports about leaving for the U.S. in August, it appears that Roy Kim has now confirmed that he will be winding down all his activities in Korea to return to the US on August 25 to continue his studies. The “Superstar K4” winner will be returning to Georgetown University to begin his Bachelor Of Business Administrations in September.

A representative of Roy Kim has revealed that “Roy Kim will be leaving for the U.S. on August 25. This is because Roy Kim’s university, Georgetown University, will not grant an extension on his deferment and thus he has to apply for Semester 1 in September.” Roy Kim had applied for an extension to continue his music studies in Korea but his request was denied. This has also caused him to leave his radio program, MBC FM4U’s “Roy Kim and Jung Joon Young’s Good Friends.”

Roy Kim has also finished all his activities for his first album, “Love Love Love,” at the end of July with his last appearance being at the 2013 Ansan Valley Rock Festival . His first album was eagerly anticipated amongst fans but the response was mixed with some claiming that his song “Bom Bom Bom” was plagiarised.

Up until now Roy Kim has been pursuing his musical activities under CJ E & M’s “incubation system.” The incubation system was where the  TOP12 from “Superstar K” are given the chance to work under CJ E&M for 3 months after the show’s conclusion. The system was designed to help them make a debut after which they can find a more permanent agency. On this note CJ E&M has revealed that Roy Kim has not decided on a permanent agency.
