Twelve member boy group EXO is inches away from setting a record of selling one million copies of their first album “XOXO (Kiss & Hug).”

The album was first released on June 3, and the record on October 11 states that 441,332 copies have been sold. The repackaged version was released on August 5 and it sold 910,973 copies, setting a record of over 900,000 copies sold thus far this year for the group.

The album continues to receive support from music fans and is showing a consistency in sales, and it is predicted to reach one million sales very soon.

Since 2001, the album sales have decreased drastically due to illegal downloading. However, after the appearance of a legitimate online music market in 2005, this is the first time an album has achieved this much success.

In September, EXO set the record for selling 740,000 copies of their album within a three month period. This was the first time any album has sold this many copies in 12 years.

After concluding their activities for their first album, the members of EXO is in the process of working on their new album. They are scheduled to be among the first foreign singers to perform at the Beijing Olympic Stadium in “SMTOWN Live World Tour III in Beijing.”
