miss A's Min Criticized for Being Racist Over Photoshopped Photo
It looks like miss A‘s Min is in some hot water over a photo that she posted on her Instagram account, which some have argued to be racist.
Min recently posted a photo of American rapper Rick Ross‘ head photoshopped onto fellow JYP artist, Sunmi‘s body. In the corner, an image of a fried chicken leg is pasted onto the photo. The title of the photo seems to be “Rick Ross – 24 Portions Is Not Enough” while Min’s caption for the photo read, “Not enough, not enough, 24 portions.”
For those who don’t know, tying together African-Americans and fried chicken is considered to be a racial stereotype.
After Min posted the photo, many fans were not amused as they commented, “This isn’t funny at all,” “Isn’t this racist?” and “Why bring Sunmi into this racist photo?” One fan seemed to explain, “Making references to fried chicken or watermelons when it comes to African-Americans is not good. Especially if it’s done by another race other than African-Americans themselves; it’s 100% racist. I think it’s a good idea for you to erase it and apologize.”
Soompiers, what do you think of Min’s photo?
