Moon Chae Won Talks About Struggles of Filming “Good Doctor”

In a recent interview with Newsen, Moon Chae Won unveiled some behind the scenes stories about filming the now concluded KBS 2TV’s Monday-Tuesday drama “Good Doctor.”

She said, “Before the surgery scene, I went to Gangnam St. Mary’s Hospital to observe an operation where the surgeon removed a tumor from a newborn’s throat.”

She continued, “The professor said it was a rare opportunity and that I watched him for 1.5 hours. He told me I was better than what he expected,” as she reminisced on her experience.

She went home feeling better than what she expected but had a difficult time because images from the surgery kept replaying in her head, and she had no appetite for four days.

Moreover, she explained the reason why she left the surgery room after 1.5 hours saying, “I pulled down the mask because it was getting stuffy, and suddenly I felt dizzy” and added, “I think doctors are incredible. Having to stand for hours is physical labor in itself.”

After hearing about her surgery observation withdrawal, netizens concluded Moon Chae Won gave a realistic performance on the drama because she had the experience and gave credit to her efforts to play her roles.
