tvN drama “Nine: Nine Times Time Travel” will be made remade into an American drama with actress Yunjin Kim acting as Executive Producer. 

CJ E&M announced that “Nine” has been picked up by Fake Empire Productions, the company behind hit American television series such as “Gossip Girl,” “Carrie Dairies,” and “Chuck,” for the major network channel ABC. The script for the pilot is currently in process, and the pilot could air as early as May of next year.

Director Choi Jin Hee of CJ E&M said in a statement, “Traditionally, American dramas rarely make remakes from other countries, except England. After the success of ‘Homeland’,a remake of an Israel drama, the idea of remaking foreign dramas is becoming more popular. ‘Nine’ received many love calls from American producers.”

Actress Yunjin Kim of the American television shows “Lost” and “Mistresses” will play a big role in the production of the remake. The actress will use her know how and influence to introduce the drama to American audiences. The actress said, “As an actress and someone who enjoys Korean dramas, I am excited to introduce the Korean drama style. I plan to introduce other Korean entertainment content after ‘Nine’ to American audiences.” 

The show will focus on a man who has nine magical sticks that allow him to travel to 20 years in the past, where he tries to prevent a murder that destroyed his family.
