Sung Yuri: "Kim Min Jong Saved My Life"

Former Fin.K.L member turned actress Sung Yuri revealed that Kim Min Jong is her “life saver.”

As a guest on the October 28 episode of SBS’ “Healing Camp,” singer and actor Kim Min Jong brightened the atmosphere of the show through his skillfully articulated stories. During this night, however,  MC Sung Yuri grabbed attention when she shared a story of how Kim Min Jong saved her life.

Sung Yuri shared, “During my Fin.K.L days, Kim Min Jong was close to the president of our agency, so we all went on a trip together. Ock Joo Hyun and I were on a water tube when we noticed that we were going deeper in to the sea. While we were on the tube, I was flailing around when I fell into the water and started to struggle. People thought I was just having fun and did not try to save me.” 

However, the “Healing Camp” MC smiled and expressed her gratitude towards Kim Min Jong, as she shared, “As I began to lose my breath, Kim Min Jong dived in to the water like a movie star, to save me.” She added, “He was like a prince,” causing Kim Min Jong to become embarrassed.

In response, the “Healing Camp” guest stated, “The waves seemed strong. Right when I saw what was happening I ruled that it was real. That’s why I dived right in to the water,” explaining his reasoning behind his sudden heroic actions.

In return, Sung Yuri revealed, “I didn’t realize that I was pressing Kim Min Jong’s head down in the water as I was struggling to live. That’s why he threw me and yelled, ‘Stay still! I will rescue you.” 

In addition, when asked by MC Kim Jaedong and Lee Kyung Gyu if the actress repaid Kim Min Jong for his actions, Sung Yuri responded, “I plan to treat him well forever,” showing her gratitude to the guest while causing another sea of laughter.
