Lee Bum Soo, YoonA, Yoon Si Yoon and Others at First Script Reading Session for the “Prime Minister and I”

On October 22, KBS 2TV’s new Monday-Tuesday family romantic comedy “Prime Minister and I” held their first script reading session at the KBS Star Hall.

Cast and crew were in attendance at the first script reading, with director Lee So Yeon, writers Kim Eun Hee and Yoon Eun Kyung, actors and actresses including Lee Bum Soo, YoonA, Yoon Si Yoon, Chae Jung Ahn, Ryu Jin, Lee Han Wie, Yoon Hae Young, Lee Young Bum, and Choi Duk Moon. The star-studded cast, including several acting powerhouses and seriously talented child actors, partook in first script reading session, symbolizing the official start of the drama filming process.

“There will be difficulties when filming begins, but every time you encounter something like that, you have to think of it as an internal struggle with yourself that you must overcome,” said Lee Bum Soo, who plays the “Work 100 points, parenting 0 points” prime minister Kwon Yul.

YoonA promised to do her best, saying, “There are many areas I am lacking in, but I will try to do my best to learn from my seniors, so please watch out for me.”

Lee Bum Soo showed his presence, becoming Kwon Yul the moment practice started. Completely immersed in his character, he paid great attention to details, bringing forth seriousness of body language and tone befitting his role, and bestowing the occasional fatherly smile at child actor Lee Do Hyun, such that one could mistake it for a real filming session.

YoonA displayed her radiant looks, and endearing charm at the script reading session. Expectations for her are as high as the amount of practice time she’s put in to get the part of Nam Da Jung down.

Holding her pen and analyzing the script, one can feel the charm Chae Jung Ahn gives off as Chief of Public Affairs, Seo Hye Joo, while Yoon Si Yoon displayed warmhearted handsomeness, appearing immersed in his role as Kang In Ho.

The three child actors and actresses, Choi Soo Han, Jeon Min Seo, and Lee Do Hyun, gave inspired performances as Lee Bum Soo’s children. Lee Do Hyun, in particular, set the mood of the scene and managed to live up to the title of “mood maker.”

With such a star-studded lineup, including Lee Bum Soo, YoonA, Yoon Shi Yoon, Chae Jung Ahn, and Ryu Jin, including the three child stars, Choi Soo Han, Jeon Min Seo and Lee Do Hyun, expectations can only be high for the upcoming “Prime Minister and I.” The drama follows after currently airing “Future Choice” and will premiere on December 9.
