SM Entertainment on Hong Kong Media’s Claims of Taeyeon and YoonA’s Drunken Behavior: “It’s Absolutely Not True”
Girls’ Generation members, Taeyeon and YoonA, are under allegations that they caused a disturbance in Hong Kong from a high amount of alcohol consumption.
On November 11, the Apple Daily as well as other media outlets in Hong Kong reported Taeyeon and YoonA went out clubbing in Hong Kong and got drunk on the night of November 8.
The reports claimed Taeyeon and YoonA drank champagne and danced until 2 AM when they left the club with a security guard. The girls allegedly fled the scene when they were spotted by paparazzi.
According to the reports, Taeyeon was walking down the stairs holding YoonA’s hand when she fell on a pile of trash. When YoonA realized she was being captured on camera, she left Taeyeon and walked away from the scene.
The sites reporting this alleged incident posted a photo along with their article claiming the women in the photo are Taeyeon and YoonA.
However, it is difficult to tell if the allegations are true because the photos do not show their faces.
In response to this incident, a representative of SM Entertainment stated, “It is absolutely not true. The girls in the photo are not members of Girls’ Generation,” and added, “The PR firm in Hong Kong is in the process of finding out why these articles were released. It seems the Hong Kong mass media has reported false news.”
