KBS 2TV's "Happy Sunday" Sees A Rise in Viewership Ratings Thanks to Season 3 of "1 Night 2 Days"

Season 3 of “1 Night 2 Days” experienced a surge in viewership ratings with the airing of their first episode and revamped cast!

Viewership ratings market research company, Nielsen Korea, compiled the figures for the entire set of KBS 2TV’s “Happy Sunday” program shows, which earned 11% of the viewership ratings according to the report released on December 1. The numbers rose significantly since last week, when it was reported to have received 7.3% of the viewership ratings on November 24. 

The reason for the bump in ratings for “Happy Sunday” can be attributed to the airing of the first episode of “1 Night 2 Days” season 3. New cast members Kim Joo Hyuk, Jung Joon Young, Defconn and Kim Joon Ho have joined season 2 members Kim Jong Min and Cha Tae Hyun for this new season. Although the second season was wrapped up with low ratings, season 3 showed promise as it got off to a strong start with renewed viewer interest in the cast.

Often straggling in last place for viewership ratings in competition with MBC’s “Sunday Sunday Night” and SBS’s “Good Sunday,” thanks to the launching of season 3 of “1 Night 2 Days,” KBS 2TV’s “Happy Sunday” was able to nab second place with “Sunday Sunday Night” in first with 14.4% viewership ratings and “Good Sunday” with 10.7%.
