After 8 Years Without Recognition, Taewon Hits the Spotlight in

It’s been no less than eight years for Taewon as a nameless singer. But after a long time of perseverance, it is now his turn for the spotlight.

On the December 14 episode of KBS’s “Immortal Song 2,” the second part of a special featuring our ‘favorite Korean ballads,’ Taewon performed “Now” by Seoul Family.

However, there was the pressure of eight nameless years, and he got off to a rocky start, his nerves getting the best of him in the introduction. With borrowed energy from the audience, who started chanting “It’s okay,” Taewon was able to bounce back and shed his nerves, proceeding to blow the audience away with his amazing vocal ability.

This stage was a huge deal for the singer, and his sincerity really hit home with the audience, who couldn’t compliment him enough. In the episode, Taewon beat out other veterans, Lee Ki Chan, V.O.S, and Jang Hyun Seung, although he eventually was pushed to second place after Kim Ba Da’s performance. Nonetheless, winning over three other talented singers in his first appearance on the show, he has definitely been recognized by viewers as quite the talent.

While he didn’t win, this episode of “Immortal Song 2” meant so much more than that, marking Taewon’s emergence from the end of a long dark tunnel. Keep an eye out for Taewon in the future!
