Wednesday and Thursday nights will be a battle field for dramas. Actor Lee Sun Kyun commented about his drama, “Miss Korea,” battling it out with Kim Soo Hyun‘s “Man from the Stars.”

On December 16, MBC’s “Miss Korea” held a press conference before the drama’s first broadcast. In regards to the drama’s timeslot, Lee Sun Kyun expressed, “It would be a lie if I said that I didn’t care about the other drama. It has distinguished actors, it’s on the same day, and it’s on the same time, so I am worried. Honestly. Our drama has its own merit. I believe our drama is up for the competition. Our actors have really good chemistry, and combined with our team work, we will excel.”

Furthermore, SBS’ “Man from the Stars” will continue after the high ratings of the previous drama, “The Heirs.” Lee Sun Kyun commented, “Even though our start may be at a disadvantage, you will have to open up our drama to find out. We are not focused on the ratings, but are focused more on creating a good drama. We believe that if we set out to make a good drama, the viewers will also like it.”

In addition, co-star Lee Yeon Hee stated, “’Miss Korea’ will illustrate the efforts to create a Miss Korea though a story of romance and struggle.  The youth struggling today, as well as many other people, will be able to agree to the plot. People will be able to find healing.”

MBC’s “Miss Korea” is set in the year 1997, and follows a group of makeup employees who try to make their old high school beauty queen into a Miss Korea.

The romantic comedy will air its first episode on December 18. “Miss Korea” will broadcast every Wednesdays and Thursdays at 10PM (KST).
