Girls’ Generation Sets a New Record on Oricon Chart with “Love&Peace” Album

Girls’ Generation released its third Japanese studio length album “Love&Peace” on December 11, which scored the top spot on Oricon Daily Album Chart on the same day. The group sold a total of 129,255 units for the first week and clinched the top spot on the Oricon Weekly Album Chart.

This marks the second time Girls’ Generation earned the top spot on the Oricon Weekly Album Chart, earning them the record of being the first Korean girl group to make this remarkable achievement. They previously sold the most units in one week through first Japanese studio length album “Girls’ Generation” in June 2011.

Meanwhile, Girls’ Generation is preparing for its solo concertMarchen Fantasy” on December 22 at Ilsan Kintex. This is part of SMTOWN Week, which takes place from December 21 to 29 featuring the rest of the groups from the agency.
