PSY to Cameo in New Animation Movie

PSY will be making a special appearance in the Korean animation movie “The Nut Job.”

“The Nut Job” is a 3D animation movie produced by Red Rover Productions with a budget of 45,000,000,000 won (approx. $42.8 million), the most ever for a Korean animation movie.  The movie will feature a 3-D character of PSY, as well as his hit song, “Gangnam Style.” It will be premiering on December 17, 2014 in America, as well as 110 other countries.

A test video for “The Nut Job” was revealed six times during various preview parties. A movie official said, “Hollywood officials, global distribution officials, and a family audience were invited to the preview parties. At the ending credits, where PSY and the cast do the ‘Gangnam Style’ dance, there was a strange sight of everyone laughing and dancing along.”

“The Nut Job” is already a film of interest to officials, having won awards as a short story animation at various film festivals, and features voice acting by actors Liam Neeson and Katherine Heigl.

American distribution will be done by the major studio Open Road, and for the rest of the world, The Weinstein Company will be in charge.

Meanwhile, PSY will be holding his own concert, “Gymnastics by the Moonlight,” from December 20 – 24 at the Seoul Olympic Park gymnasium.
