Rain's Military Investigation Over, Case Dismissed

The investigation by the prosecutor’s office for violation of military rules against singer Rain has finally ended.

According to a source in the law field, the Seoul Central District Prosecutor’s Office has dismissed the case against Rain, following accusations that he had violated the military code of conduct while in active service.

The ordinary citizen who had lodged the complaint against Rain had claimed that Rain took frequent leave from service as a celebrity soldier, and that he had violated military code.  He had demanded criminal punishment for the singer. The Gangnam police station had forwarded the case to the public prosecutor’s office.

Rain had previously received seven days of probation for violation of military rules. He had faced a military disciplinary committee in January of this year for frequent outings and nights out; he had also been captured on dates with actress Kim Tae Hee in uniform but without his military cap, thereby violating service regulations.

His agency, Cube Entertainment, stated, “We were notified that the case had been dismissed on December 12.  Rain’s comeback will be carried out as planned.”

Rain appeared at the Mnet Asian Music Awards this year, and currently has his own reality show on Mnet, “Rain Effect,” which will show what goes on behind the scenes as he prepares for his impending comeback.
