Married Couple Ji Sung and Lee Bo Young Might Both Win Daesang Awards This Year

We might possibly have another acting powerhouse couple, as actor Ji Sung and actress Lee Bo Young both are nominated for the Daesang award at different acting awards.

On the night of December 31, both “KBS Drama Awards” and “SBS Drama Awards” will hand out awards to the best actors and actresses of 2013. Ji Sung is nominated for “Secret Love” on KBS while Lee Bo Young is nominated for “I Hear Your Voice” on SBS.

Since receiving the award for best rookie actor on both MBC and SBS back in 2001, Ji Sung has been awarded the popular actor award and best couple award. Thus, this year’s nomination at the “KBS Drama Awards” is extra meaningful as the actor had successfully transformed in to this different character, convincing fans and drama viewers of his role as a rich, angry heir in the drama, “Secret Love.”

Lee Bo Young is not only nominated for the daesang at the “SBS Drama Awards,” but she will also be the MC for the award show with Lee Hwee Jae and Kim Woo Bin. The actress has been called the queen of ratings as her previous KBS drama, “My Dauther Seo Young” brought in a whopping average rating of 40.7%, while her SBS drama, “I Hear Your Voice” also recorded high viewership.

Although the couple will be at different award shows during the same night, the fact that both are nominated for Daesang proves that they are the rising acting powerhouse couple. If Ji sung and Lee Bo Young both win a Daesang, they will be the third acting couple to win the prestigious award after Yoo Dong Geun and Jeon In Hwa couple, and Choi Soo Jong and Ha Hee Ra couple.
