"The Attorney" Starring Song Kang Ho and Im Si Wan Hits 5 Million at the Theaters!

The movie “The Attorney” surpassed 5 million viewers in less than two weeks on December 30.

NEW, the producing/distributing company for the movie, said, “At 12:20pm, the accumulated number of viewers was 5,000,092, passing 5 million.” This was recorded in just 12 days after the film premiered.

The movie premiered on the night before on December 18, then officially on December 19, where it hit 230,000 viewers, giving the movie the green light for box office success. And it was all uphill from there:

• Day 1: 230,000 viewers
• Day 3: 1,000,000
• Day 5: 2,000,000
• Day 7: 3,000,000
• Day 10: 4,000,000
• Day 12: 5,000,000

NEW commented that this accumulation of viewers was much faster even than the hit movies “Miracle in Cell No. 7,” which hit 5 million in 17 days (final total viewer count: 12,800,000), and “Masquerade,” which reached 5 million in 18 days (final total viewer count: 12,310,000).

The speed at which “The Attorney” hit 5 million was not only the best out of any movie premiered in December, but even better than the number one box office hit “Avatar,” which hit 5 million in 15 days.

It remains to be seen just how many more viewers actor Song Kang Ho will be bringing to the theaters. With “Snowpiercer” (2013) and “The Face Reader” (2013), 18,500,000 tickets were sold, and together with “The Attorney” so far, the viewers number have surpassed 23.5 million!

And this isn’t the first time for actor Song Kang Ho to achieve this kind of success. This recent movie is the 9th time his movie has smashed the 5 million mark.

“The Attorney” is a movie about a poor tax lawyer, Song Woo Seok (Song Kang Ho), who, due to a certain case, becomes a civil rights lawyer. Also appearing in the movie are Kim Young Ae, Oh Dal Soo, Kwak Do Won, Im Si Wan, Lee Sung Min, etc.
