Otherwise known as the beloved character Samchunpo from the hit drama series, “Reply 1994,” actor Kim Sung Kyun is shifting gears and preparing to make a comeback to the big screen.

According to his agency representatives, it was reported that the talented actor will be taking on a role in a film on January 11. It was also reported that the actor had received multiple drama and movie offers, despite his previous comments about not getting as many as he had anticipated. The decision to star in a movie instead of a drama was based upon the actor’s preference.

Kim Sung Kyun recently starred in Gong Yoo‘s film, “The Suspect” which wrapped up filming last November and is showing in theaters currently. He also played a small role in “Kundo: The Age of the Rampant” which will premiere sometime this July. No specific film project has been decided upon or announced yet, but the actor will be shortly participating in another film.

Although many “Reply 1994” viewers mistook Samchunpo for a talented rookie actor, he actually has quite a few films under his belt, which include “Hwa-yi: A Monster Boy” and “Nameless Gangster: Rules of the Time.”

In related news, Kim Sung Kyun will reunite with fans as Samchunpo for tvN’s “Reply Music Talk Show” and “Reply 1994 Drama Concert.”
