G-Dragon's "Crooked" Wins the 2013 MTV Iggy's Song of the Year
G-Dragon‘s “Crooked” has been picked as the number 1, MTV Iggy’s Song of the Year!
After opening polls on December 13 through December 20, G-Dragon’s “Crooked” received 47.7% of the votes, earning him the number 1 spot. Bunji Garlin‘s “Differentology” was right behind with 47.68% of the votes.
“Crooked” came out on top with other fierce competitors such as Daft Punk‘s “Get Lucky,” Drake‘s “Started from the Bottom,” Lorde‘s “Royals” and PSY‘s “Gentleman.”
2NE1 has also been nominated for Song of the Year after being picked as MTV Iggy’s 2013 Song of the Summer for “Falling in Love.”
MTV Iggy commented, “EDM proved that it had some staying power. Dubstep proved that it might not. K-pop spread its global dominance a little more,” and “The songs of the year were made by people from countries as diverse as France, Korea, Canada, Trinidad and Tobago, the United Kingdom, New Zealand, Ghana, Germany, and Chile.”
About G-Dragon’s “Crooked,” MTV Iggy commented, “Big Bang’s G-Dragon made a big splash in the world of K-pop and beyond with his solo album Coup D’etat. ‘Crooked’ from that album was the endlessly replayable sound of him breaking big. Ahem. We called it in 2012.”
Meanwhile, Big Bang will be meeting their fans through the “BIGBANG +α IN SEOUL” from January 24 to January 26.
