Actor So Ji Sub Invested in Award-Winning Movie “Philomena” Starring Judi Dench
It has been reported that actor So Ji Sub personally invested in the British-French-American movie that stars world-famous actress Judi Dench, “Philomena”. Judi Dench is very well known for her role as “M” that appears in almost every James Bond movies. The movie is based on the novel “The Lost Child of Philomena Lee” written by journalist Martin Sixsmith. The movie also stars of Steve Coogan and it tells the true story of Philomena Lee’s 50-year-long search for her son.
Apparently, So Ji Sub, along with his entertainment agency, invested over $51,000 in this movie.
After its screening at the 70th Venice International Film Festival, “Philomena” won several international awards including the People’s Choice Award Runner-Up Prize at the 2013 Toronto International Film Festival. The movie is nominated in four categories for the 2014 Academy Awards, including Best Picture and Best Actress. For nominations, it received four BAFTA Awards nominations and three Golden Globe nominations.
The movie will be out in Korea in April.
