Brown Eyed Soul Reflects on the Passage of Time with

Brown Eyed Soul returned with “Pass Me By,” the title track off their fourth album “Thank Your Soul Side A,” on February 13.

“Pass Me By” is an urban R&B track that fuses analogue and digital. The music video encapsulates the passage of time, referencing images from the present and the past that bring on a wave of nostalgia.

Along with the flow of music, the history and the ways of recording music are changing as well. Brown Eyed Soul has had continuous interest and attachment to this “flow of music.” They released their third album as a special LP, choosing to go with older technology and props for making their music. In order to reproduce the sounds of the 60s and 70s, they had to make sacrifices, but yet they still continue with their musical experimentation. This interpretation lends greater emphasis and meaning to the words “interest” and “attachment.”

Brown Eyed Soul will be releasing their fourth album as a limited edition cassette tape. The cassette tape lies between the analog LP and digital CD, and this perfectly represents their new album, which is a combination of analog and digital and represents sounds from the 70s to the 90s.
