Girl’s Day’s Hyeri Reveals the Reason Behind Her Fainting Spell on M!Countdown
Last month, Girl’s Day‘s Hyeri fainted on stage on “M! Countdown.”
She appeared on MBC “Human Documentary” on February 15, and revealed that the reason for fainting was because of swine flu (H1N1).
Right after Girl’s Day concluded their performance of “Something” on January 16, Hyeri fainted on stage and had to be carried off stage by staff members. Hyeri had not shown any signs of weakness during the performance itself.
She revealed, “It was swine flu. That was the sickest I’ve ever been in my life.”
Hyeri said that she remembered when the performance started but couldn’t remember anything after the first chorus. “I was sick at that time, but I wanted to be on stage for the performance. I know how precious each performance is. It wouldn’t be right to not to appear for the sake of the fans, and I would have been sorry to the members.”
Girl’s Day was up against TVXQ that day for the number 1 spot but lost out. Hyeri was immediately taken to the hospital and received treatment. She was able to return to the stage the next day.
Idols are faced with grueling schedules and little sleep, and it’s no wonder that they fall sick. Rookie boy group GOT7 recently had to temporarily halt their activities after three of their members came down with swine flu.
