Lee Min Ho Halts Overseas Activities to Concentrate on

Fans of actor Lee Min Ho all over the world will temporarily have to wait a bit more to have the chance to see him in person. According to a news agency report, Lee Min Ho would have to decline the offers for him to tour beginning April, since his film “Gangnam Blues” will start shooting. His last overseas event will be in Yokohama, Japan in March. 

“We will have to postpone all the performances planned because he will  need to focus on filming for the time being,” Lee Min Ho’s rep said in a statement.

Throughout 2013, Lee Min Ho held events in China, Japan and Southeast Asia, including stops in Malaysia and the Philippines, for an eight-city tour. The success was seen to continue and he received a rush of requests to visit other places elsewhere around the globe. His visit has become an event for a particular city that foreign fans book travel packages around his performances. 

However, he will have to defer all further appearances. He said, “I have to focus on the current plans to shoot. I will give attention to planning future shows, when I hope I will again meet the fans.” 

Lee Min Ho first gained attention with his lead role in Boys Over Flowers.” He further came into the limelight with City Hunter and cemented his star status with his hit drama The Heirs in late 2013. 

His popularity is spreading overseas, and his management is fielding love calls. They reiterated, “We have schedules and offers for review, but in the meantime, Lee Min Ho will concentrate on the film and performances will be passed through to the second half.”

For “Gangnam Blues,” Lee Min Ho will work with director Yoo Ha. The plot involves the conspiracy of those in political power and the dark forces to gain control of the real estate development of the Gangnam district in Seoul in the 1970s. As it is an action noir film, fans are anticipating another side to Lee Min Ho.

Director Yoo Ha is reported to have his eyes on casting the actor. He said, “Though many actors showed interest, I have envisioned Lee Min Ho in the role. I expect his ability, charm and good looks will create a synergistic effect on the character he’s playing.”

“Gangnam Blues” is slated to begin filming in mid-April and to release in the second half of 2014.
