Yoo Ah In Practices Role as Genius Pianist in "Secret Love Affair"
Ahead of the premiere of JTBC drama “Secret Love Affair” on March 17, the production has released a still cut actor Yoo Ah In playing the piano for a scene in the drama.
Yoo Ah In plays a genius pianist who becomes intensely in love with Kim Hee Ae, who is actually 19 years his senior. His character, Lee Sun Jae, has led a fairly normal life, until his hidden talents are unleashed by Oh Hye Won (Kim Hee Ae).
In the still cut, he displays Lee Sun Jae’s delicate, sensitive nature as genius pianist playing the piano, and this is sure to set female hearts aflutter. Lee Sun Jae sports a short sporty haircut, a reflection of his normal life till now, while the dark turtleneck lends an artistic sensibility.
Yoo Ah In has been practicing the piano whenever he has a break, so perhaps that is one reason why he looks at perfectly at ease in front of the piano. The cellphone atop the piano apparently contains instrumental music that Yoo Ah In has been listening to, as well as videos of him practicing the piano.
Pianist Kim So Hyung, who is the classical music supervisor for the drama, had nothing but praise for him. “It seems like Yoo Ah In is a real genius. He did not learn how to play the piano before, but I admire the way he is able to understand and follow along when I tell him something only once. Also, even if I give him a very difficult piece, he returns the next day having memorized it so I realized that while he’s able to immerse himself in the music and has superb concentration, he is not proud but rather, he is a really hard worker. If it wasn’t Yoo Ah in in the role of genius pianist Lee Sun Jae, I don’t think it would be possible.”
“Secret Love Affair” is a melodrama about a love story between an elegant and sophisticated career woman Oh Hye Won and genius pianist Lee Sun Jae. Hye Won falls deeply in love and experiences the thrills of romance, but this does not portend well for the future. What will happen to our two lovers?
“Secret Love Affair” airs on JTBC on Mondays and Tuesdays at 9:50 PM KST beginning March 17.
