K-Dramas Start Returning to Regularly Scheduled Broadcasts

In the state of having brought all televised programming to a halt in the days following the Sewol ferry accident, it looks like drama programming is going to return to normal, with the exception of variety shows.

Looking at the program log for KBS, SBS, and MBC for April 22, most dramas (daily and prime-time) are expected to air as regularly scheduled, while some are still double-booked with news programs.

On April 22, MBC will be airing “Everybody Kimchi,” “Shining Romance,” and “Empress Ki” as scheduled. KBS 2TV’s daily evening drama, “Sky Angel,” will air as regularly scheduled. SBS has some programs double-booked. Its daily drama “A Well-Grown Daughter” is expected to air as scheduled, but the time slot for its Monday-Thursday drama, “God’s Gift – 14 Days,”  which is 10:00 PM, is double booked with more SBS news programs. SBS will be making a last minute decision on whether to air the drama or not, depending on the situation.

In contrast, cable channel JTBC, which has a Monday-Tuesday drama titled “Secret Affair,” suspended broadcast of it on both nights.

KBS, MBC, and SBS drama programming for Wednesday and Thursday is also expected to return to normal. Stayed tuned for updates.
