Seungri and Gong Hyung Jin Show Bromance Chemistry on “Angel Eyes”

Seungri and Gong Hyung Jin’s diplay of bromance on SBS’ weekend drama, “Angel Eyes,” is adding to the pleasure of the viewers. 

In the drama, Seungri and Gong Hyung Jin work as 911 (119) emergency rescues workers. They bring laughter to the fire station that is always filled with a sense of anxiety. Gong Hyung Jin plays the role of Gi Woon Chan, who shows a deep paternal love towards his son, and Seungri plays Teddy Seo, a Korean-American from Texas who speaks Korean using the Choongchung-do dialect.

On the episode 5 “Angel Eyes,” which aired on April 25, Teddy Seo showed tears after he learns about Gi Woon Chan’s sad story.

When Woon Chan’s son Jin Mo told Teddy, “My mom is studying in America,” he tried to correct him. Jin Mo’s mother died while struggling against an illness, and Woon Chan tried to prevent Teddy from correcting him. He told Teddy he didn’t know how to tell his son, who was only five years old at the time that his mother died. Jin Mo seemed very interested when he learned Teddy was from the U.S. Teddy promised to keep his secret as he was shown trying to choke back his tears.

Woon Chan felt sympathy for Teddy who came alone from the U.S. in order to realize his dream of being a rescue worker. He felt pity for Teddy who had no friends to call or meet even after getting paid from work and was living alone in a small rented room. Woon Chan took Teddy to his house and served him a home cooked meal.

This warm mood along with the comic acting of both characters added life to the calm storyline of the drama.

Meanwhile, “Angel Eyes” tells the love story between a man and a woman who were each other’s first love, and the happenings that occur between them when they reunite after 12 years. The drama stars, Lee Sang Yoon, Goo Hye Sun, Kim Ji Seok, Seungri, Gong Hyung Jin, and Jung Jin Young. It airs every Saturday and Sunday at 9:55 PM, KST on SBS.
