Lee Hyori Received a Forest Planted at a Dog Park for Her Birthday

Today, on May 10, sexy singer Lee Hyori celebrated her 35th birthday. To celebrate this special day, fans of the singer decided to present her with a special gift: a forest planted in a dog park. Previously, we reported on how EXO‘s Baekhyun received a forest for his birthday, and it seems like the trend has continued with Lee Hyori’s fans also planning the special gift. 

It was revealed that Lee Hyori’s  fanclub, Hyori Together, had begun gathering monetary donations since January, and had surpassed their initial goal of raising 5 million won (about 4,880 USD). Through the fans’ collaboration, Lee Hyori’s forest will have about 400 to 500 trees planted at the dog park located in the Children’s Grand Park.

Lee Hyori has been known for her activism for animal rights, thus making the planting of Lee Hyori’s forest memorable. As fans worked with Tree Planet to create the forest in the dog park, the special gift will be quite meaningful for both the singer and her fans. Gifting forests in the name of celebrities have become a trend with celebrities such as 2Ne1, Shinhwa, Girls’ Generation, Infinite, Roy Kim, and EXO receiving planted forests in their names.
