[UPDATE] PSY Confirmed to Perform in Korea for 2014 Brazil World Cup Korea-Russia Match

PSY is no stranger to large crowds as he has performed on large-scale stages in recent years, especially with the popularity of his global hit “Gangnam Style.”

Thus, it comes as no surprise that the singer has been invited to perform in Korea during the 2014 Brazil World Cup Korea-Russia match on June 18, a huge event for Koreans. However, YG Entertainment clarified that the singer has only received an offer and hasn’t confirmed anything yet. The representative from YG told OSEN, “Currently, we are in talks regarding the offer. However, we don’t have anything confirmed yet.”

Meanwhile, PSY’s latest song “Hangover” has already raked in over 40 million views since it was released three days ago. PSY is also scheduled to release another single titled “Daddy” this August.

[UPDATE 06/13]

According to a Gangnam district official on June 13, “PSY will be performing on June 18, Korea’s first World Cup match against Russia. The performance will be held in front of the COEX in Korea, put on by Hyundai, a sponsor of FIFA. Specific details are still being worked out.”

Korea will be playing Russia on June 18 at 7AM (KST), Algeria on June 23 at 4AM (KST), and Belgium on June 27 at 5AM (KST). The official said, “We’re planning on having a popular star join us on June 23 and 27, as well.
