KBS‘ new Monday Tuesday drama “Trot Lovers” premiered with the lowest ratings among its competition from the other two big networks, SBS and MBC.

According to audience measurement company Nielsen Korea, the first episode of “Trot Lovers” which aired on June 23 recorded a 5.8% rating nationwide. Last week, predecessor of “Trot Lovers,” “Big Man,” concluded its run with a 12.6% rating.

The rating for “Trot Lovers” is the lowest out of the three major broadcast systems’ Monday-Tuesday drama ratings, as SBS’ “Doctor Stranger” recorded a 11.9%, up 1.1% from previous week’s 10.8%. MBC‘s “Triangle” came in second with a 7.5% rating, which is 0.2% lower from June 17’s 7.7%. 

“Trot Lovers” stars A Pink member Jung Eun Ji and actor Ji Hyun Woo in the leading roles and tells the story of Jung Eun Ji’s character evolving into a trot singer.
