SBS’ upcoming Wednesday-Thursday drama “It’s Okay, It’s Love,” starring Jo In Sung and Gong Hyo Jin, has hit an embarrassing bump in the road, having admitted to plagiarizing its most recent teaser video.

On June 26, production companies GT Entertainment and CJ E&M said in a press release, “We sincerely apologize for the disappointment that we’ve caused.”

They said, “Prior to the production of the teaser video, we researched countless images and videos, in order to portray the concept of ‘love’ as best as possible. In our search, we came across a video that really matched the intended tone and message of our drama.”

Continuing, they explained, “The concept we were going for wasn’t merely one of ‘what heals wounds is love.’ We wanted to portray a drama that was a sort of celebration of the thankfulness and growth that comes from love, no matter how difficult or strange. In our extreme ambition, we made the mistake of emulating a different video that embodied a similar concept.”

“We will erase all of the videos, and make sure that they are not used again.”

“It’s Okay, It’s Love” will air after the end of “You’re Surrounded” on July 23.

The video that the teaser copied was a short film by New York-based director-choreographer Celia Rowlson-Hall.
