AOA to Cover Girls’ Generation’s “Genie” on SBS MTV Show

Girl group AOA has performed a cover version of the Girls’ Generation hit “Genie” for a special edition of the SBS MTV show “The Show – About K-pop,” which is set to air on the channel on the evening of July 1.

The AOA girls performed the cover version wearing sailor hats and marine-themed crop tops and white hot pants, in a style somewhat reminiscent of the video for the Girls’ Generation original.

It is not the first time that AOA has performed a cover of a Girls’ Generation track. Just last week, members of the group appeared onstage with members of BESTie and Girl’s Day to perform “Mr. Mr.” on KBS music program Music Bank.

AOA announced, “We really like the ‘sailor’ look, and we were very happy to wear these outfits for the show. We did our best to perform a cover version of ‘Genie’ in our own style. We hope you like it!”
