Soompi Ideal Type World Cup: Round of 16

Welcome back to round two of the Soompi Ideal Type World Cup! With your votes, we have ruthlessly kicked out four from each group of six, bringing us from 48 girls and 48 guys to just 16 each (16 idols, 16 actors)! A lot went down in the first round. Some of the results were entirely expected, while still many favorites were without a doubt knocked out, some by just a hair. SISTAR’s Bora made a valiant comeback in the end against 2NE1’s Dara, who had been ahead for a good portion of the voting. TVXQ’s Changmin and GOT7’s Jackson also advanced, knocking out INFINITE’s L, CNBLUE’s Yonghwa, and BIGBANG’s G-Dragon. Also of note is the advancement of both Lee Seung Gi and Choi Jin Hyuk from the same group, Little Gu and Papa Gu from the drama “Gu Family Book.”

The top two in each of the idol groups, both male and female, were pretty clear cut, while in the groups for the actors and actresses, the spot for second was a tight race, the difference for many being just 1%, and the voting is only going to get tougher.

So what’s next? Single round elimination. The matchups for this round are intense! We have Suzy vs. Hyorin, Jun Ji Hyun vs. Kim Tae Hee, Kai vs. Jackson, Kim Woo Bin vs. Song Joong Ki, and more!
