The Jang Hyuk and Jang Nara-starrer MBC Wednesday-Thursday mini series “Fated to Love You” started off with a 6.6% viewership rating on its first airing.
According to Nielsen Korea, the first episode of “Fated to Love You” aired on July 2 received a 6.6% rating nationwide. “Repentance/A New Leaf,” on the other hand, received an 8.1% rating for its final episode that aired at the same time, edging over “Fated to Love You” by 1.5%.
“Fated to Love You” tells the story of Lee Gun (Jang Hyuk) who has almost everything–good looks, wealth, and the perfect girlfriend. However, the fact that he has no future is what’s getting in the way of him becoming the perfect man. Through a coincidental incident, he meets Kim Mi Young (Jang Nara), a girl with ordinary looks and grades who’s from a small island. Her normal life gets twisted when she travels to Macao and becomes like Cinderella. In the first episode, the fateful meeting of the two was shown.
Meanwhile, “You’re All Surrounded” ranked first among the dramas in the Wednesday-Thursday timeslot with a 10.7% rating while “Joseon Gunman” got an 8.0% rating.
