Producer Primary has settled to share distribution rights with the composers of the songs he was accused of plagiarizing. 

Previously, Primary’s “I Got C” and “Mr. Lee” were accused of plagiarizing Dutch artist Caro Emerald‘s songs “Liquid Lunch” and “One Day.” After talks with the writers of Caro Emerald’s songs, they have settled to share the rights to Primary’s songs. The Dutch tracks’ composing group “Grand Mono” is now officially credited for Primary’s songs in the database. 

Representative Jo Kyu Chul from Universal Music Publishing Korea, who is in charge of managing copyrights of “I Got C” and “Mr. Lee,” told the press that “the negotiation was done over e-mail, and the original writers had favorable opinions on Primary, so they settled it without difficulties.” He also added that “if the songs were 100% copied off the originals they would have sued or demanded penalties.” 

Primary revealed “I Got C” on popular variety program “Infinity Challenge” as a collaboration with Park Myung Soo. “Mr. Lee” was written by Primary for singer Park Ji Yoon.
