Park Min Woo Reveals a Pre-Debut Connection to Shinhwa's Lee Minwoo

On the August 31 episode of SBS’s celebrity program “Good Sunday—Roommate,” actor Park Min Woo issued a special thanks to Shinhwa‘s Lee Minwoo.

With fellow “Roommate” participant Seo Kang Joon, Park Min Woo visited the shop he worked at before his debut, which was and still is owned by Lee Minwoo’s older sister. The two sat down with Lee Minwoo’s older sister and waxed nostalgic about the past.

Before his debut, Park Min Woo had come to Seoul with no goal other than becoming an entertainer.

“I searched on the internet for ways to become a star. One suggestion was to work part-time at a restaurant in Gangnam,” he said. After a long time had passed without his being discovered, however, he made the decision to give up his dreams of becoming an actor. At that time he fell into a depression, gained weight, and stayed up all night drinking. However, he was able to meet Lee Minwoo and ask him for advice about becoming an actor while having a part-time job.

Lee Min Woo gave him the following advice: “Exercise every day, watch your diet, and dress well.”

“He took care of me like I was his own sibling,” said Park Min Woo.
