
TVXQ Breaks Another Record, Ranks No. 1 in Oricon DVD Chart for 7th Time
TVXQ has added yet another record to their long list of accomplishments in Japan by ranking number one in the Oricon Weekly DVD chart for the seventh time.
Since the release of the “TVXQ LIVE TOUR 2014 TREE” concert DVD on August 27, a total of 104,000 copies were sold on its first week. The live concert DVD also topped the September 8 Oricon Weekly DVD Overall Chart (data collected from August 25-31).
With this, TVXQ has ranked number one in the Oricon Weekly DVD chart for a total of seven times, breaking not only the record that they have previously set as the first foreign artist to hold the most number 1 rank on the Oricon DVD chart but also being the first foreign artist to have their five DVDs rank number 1 consecutively.
Adding up the sales of the Blu-ray Disc, TVXQ also ranked number 1 in the weekly “Total Music DVD-BD Chart” which made them the first foreign artist to sell an accumulated two million copies for their DVD and Blu-ray Disc, confirming their unchanging popularity and influence as a group.
The newly-released DVD and Blu-ray Disc features TVXQ’s “TVXQ LIVE TOUR 2014” that took place in Tokyo, Osaka, Nagoya, Miyagi, Sapporo, Fukuoka, Nigata, Fukui, Hiroshima, and Yokohama from April last year that gathered a total of 600,000 fans.
Meanwhile, TVXQ has just announced the schedule for their dome tour next year, starting with Fukuoka on February and to be followed by stops in Tokyo, Sapporo, Nagoya, and Osaka. It will be their second time to hold a tour in th five big domes of Japan.
