SHINee Tops Oricon Weekly Chart for the First Time since Debut

Male group SHINee has reached a new milestone with their latest Japanese studio album, “I’m Your Boy.”

“SHINee has topped the Oricon Weekly Chart for the first time since their Japanese debut four years ago,” Japanese news outlet Oricon Style reported on September 30.

Released on September 24, the album has been well received by the group’s Japanese fans. With over 45,000 copies sold in just six days, the sales were enough to secure the top spot on the respected Oricon Weekly Chart. In June 2013, SHINee ranked second on the chart with their second studio album “Boys Meet U,” but this is their first time to top the chart.

Furthermore, “I’m Your Boy” is the first album by a Korean male group to rank first on Oricon Weekly Chart after TVXQ‘s “Tree,” which topped the chart in March.
