SMTOWN World Tour Surpasses 1 Million Spectators to Date

On October 4 and 5, the artists of SM Entertainment performed at the Ajinomoto Stadium for the “SMTOWN Life World Tour IV in Tokyo” concert. Over the course of two days, over 120,000 spectators came to see their favorite SM artists perform. With this concert, the SMTOWN Tour brand reached over 1 million spectators since its launch in 2008. Since their first concert, the company traveled all over the world to major cities including Seoul, New York, LA, Paris, Tokyo, Beijing, Shanghai, Bangkok, and Singapore among others. With each concert, they also recorded special titles such as “First Solo Korean Brand to Perform in Paris,” “First Korean Artist to Perform at New York’s Madison Square Garden,” and “First Foreign Artist to Perform at the Beijing National Stadium.”

In this tour in Tokyo, Kangta, BoA, DBSK, Super Junior, Girls’ Generation, SHINee, f(x), EXO, Red Velvet, Super Junior-M Henry, Zhoumi, and J-Min made the performance lineup.

Prior to the concert, over a reported 600,000 fans competed to get a hold of tickets. For those who were not able to get live tickets, over a 135 movie theaters nationwide—including Tokyo, Hokkaido, Osaka, Kyoto, and Hiroshima—showed a live feed of the concert.

Meanwhile, “SMTOWN Live” will continue its tour on October 18 in Shanghai.
