“Hidden Singer” Producers Don’t Trust MC Jeon Hyun Moo with Cast Information and Scripts

On the latest October 16 episode of tvN’s “I Need More Romance,” the cast members talked about their past slips of the tongue. During the conversation, Jeon Hyun Moo revealed his past mistake that led the production team of “Hidden Singer” to lose their trust in him.

Park Ji Yoon first mentioned, “The guest artist for ‘Hidden Singer’ is supposed to be under the radar but you [Jeon Hyun Moo] revealed it on MBC’s ‘Radio Star.’” At the time, Jeon Hyun Moo, as MC of “Hidden Singer,” was supposed to keep the identity of the guest singer a secret. However, when he made a guest appearance on “Radio Star,” he ended up telling everyone who the next singer would be. This revelation became a huge news issue as well as a topic of conflict among netizens.

Regarding this incident, Jeon Hyun Moo revealed, “Since that incident the ‘Hidden Singer’ production team doesn’t tell me who next week’s guest singer is and doesn’t even give me the script. If they give it to me they do it on the day of the filming.” He continued, “I told them that not giving me the script was funny but that they should stop playing around. When I said this they looked at me seriously and said, ‘What are you talking about?’ I even asked an assistant producer about who the next guest singer would be, and he said, ‘What are you going to do for me if I tell you?’”

Jeon Hyun Moo expressed his frustration and resentment as he told the rest of the panel members, “I’m the MC…the MC,” which brought laughter to the set.

To this the panel members humorously responded, “You brought it upon yourself.”
