Girls’ Generation's Tiffany: “My Parents Opposed My Move to Korea”

Singing star Tiffany has explained that she was “defenseless” when she left her native United States to come to Korea to join Girls’ Generation.

Tiffany was speaking on the October 21 edition of OnStyle reality show “The TaeTiSeo,” which follows the adventures of TaeTiSeo, the three-member Girls’ Generation subunit that comprises Tiffany, as well as Taeyeon and Seohyun.

During the show, Tiffany was emotional as she confessed, “My parents did not agree with my decision to come to Korea, and I was in a defenseless state at that stage. I didn’t go back for two and a half years. I thought at the time that I would just go my own way and not hold anything against my parents. I feel sorry about all that now. But it does comfort me to think that younger singers can consider me as a role model.”

As part of the show, the girls visited New York, and the star explained that she still had friends living in the Big Apple.
